Feature Story

DO More Business!

Here at DOmedia, our goal is to make the process of buying and selling out-of-home and alternative advertising as simple and convenient as possible!  But to make the planning process more efficient, buyers must be able to find all asset information relevant to their campaign—which, in turn, helps them find you!  With this in mind, DOmedia has enhanced the media profile capabilities to allow sellers to provide more of the information buyers are looking for such as rate card pricing and art/production specs.

Pricing: Using the pricing capabilities, you are now able to enter both rate card pricing as well as the actual sales price.  To help potential buyers create their plans to meet budget requirements, the rate card price will be published on your media profile page and become viewable to other users.  You also have the option to enter the sales price—the actual price you typically charge a buyer for that asset—that will remain hidden from public view.  This is also where you can provide your pricing structure such as daily, monthly, or per impression.

Art/Production Specs: Art and production specs are incredibly important to include because they help potential clients determine execution and timing needs.  Information such as media type, display size, lead times, and art requirements are all critical components for agencies and advertisers to consider when they are putting a plan together.  Knowing the lead time and creative needs up front can save a lot of time and hassles down the road. Be as thorough as possible when you detail this information and don’t forget to click the “Publish” box at the bottom of the page!

Creative Corner

Inspiration or Perspiration - You Decide

Alternative advertising at its best, or worst, describes the Right Guard campaign staged in a London subway in July 2008. While Right Guard referred to the alternative publicity as "pitvertising," some referred to it as “icky.” Nevertheless, the deodorant promotion did get center-stage attention from the media and public.

Right Guard's landmark advertisement was produced by installing a video screen in the armpits of their team members' shirts. Whenever one of the team members reached overhead to grab a subway safety railing, a Right Guard commercial would play in their armpits and directly into the faces of other riders.

Right Guard's off-the-billboard advertising was designed to elevate their message above the saturated clutter of today's consumer marketing. It represented a flash of brilliance in the new trend of capturing consumer attention. Criticism notwithstanding, the memorable way of defining a problem (underarm odor) and offering a solution (Right Guard Deodorant) was considered a success by Dial executives, the owners of Right Guard.

Recap of Last Month

What? You Missed the Last Issue?
It’s Okay, Here’s The Recap!

AAAAIn last month's issue, we reported on our meeting with buyers and advertising agencies.  The feedback indicated they wanted a more targeted search that delivered results based on their specific objectives.  Armed with that information, the DOmedia team went to work finding a solution.  When you now search our marketplace, the orange icons represent the completeness of the profile.  The more info, the fuller the orange icons become.  Keeping it simple is our goal, but we need your complete profile information to better match buyers and sellers.

DOmedia brought enthusiasm and innovation to an already lively 2009 American Association of Advertising Agencies' Media Conference & Tradeshow in New Orleans.  In an effort to make visitors and attendees more familiar with our extraordinary database service of out-of-home and alternative media, we offered a variety of prizes and fun opportunities for meet & greets and professional networking.
