Cinema Advertising Breaks Even '09, Positive Outlook for '10
Considering the general fortunes of the media business in 2009, breaking even looks pretty good -- and that's roughly where cinema advertising will end up, according to several recent forecasts. Industry oracles also see a return to long-term growth in 2010, pointing to the past strength of cinema advertising, which shared in the general expansion of digital out-of-home video in 2007-2008.

Outlook for outdoor in 2010: Lots better
Advertising should pop back up into positive territory
Like every other medium, outdoor advertising saw steep spending declines in 2009, battered by the recession and greater caution on the part of advertisers wary of investing in all but the most proven media. But 2010 will bring more changes to outdoor than most other media. The industry will be poring over the first full year of the Traffic Audit Bureau’s Eyes On Out of Home Media Measurement data, which tracks who actually sees billboards.

EYE Shares Shopper 2.0 Profile Study Findings
EYE’s new Shopper Profile 2.0 results are in, showing that while many shoppers said they would shop less or about the same as they did last holiday season, 44 percent said they were willing to spend more during the holidays when incented by a good sale or offer. In fact, 41 percent of shoppers report spending more than they intended in the mall environment.
