Digital Place Based Advertising

So ‘Digital Place Based Advertising’ will replace ‘Out of Home Advertising Bureau’ and OVAB therefore becomes the DPAA – although it seems that OVAB Europe doesn’t necessarily agree with the name change and for the time being at least is set to continue with OVAB Europe – a four letter acronym which we have to say (with or without the ‘Europe’ suffix) seems to have built up quite a bit of brand equity over the last few years.

Captivate's Nielsen Survey Follows OVAB Guidelines

Captivate Network, which has announced the results of a major, in-depth survey undertaken by The Nielsen Company, is believed to be the first digital out-of-home company to offer both U.S. and Canadian advertisers audience metrics that are consistent with OVAB guidelines. The survey shows that Captivate delivers an audience of several million employed, high-income consumers who pay attention to the company’s elevator screens and use the content on them to help make buying decisions.

March 20th saw the first USA Today Digital Signage / DOOH Supplement and January 29th will see Supplement II. Tony Hymes, Head Publisher of supplement publishing house Mediaplanet Inc., told us “The 620,000 copies of the 16-page, tabloid-sized full-color supplement included in the Friday, January 29, 2010 USA Today editions in New York, Chicago, Washington DC, and Los Angeles will reach an expected 2.2 million readers.”
