The DOmedia Team
Rich Langdale
founder/chairman
Rich is our chief visionary, eternal optimist, tireless cheerleader and guiding compass. He keeps us on our toes and constantly moving forward, always encouraging us to think bigger and further outside the box.
Over the years, Rich has launched or co-launched more than a dozen companies, including Digital Storage Inc., a computer storage wholesaler, and Submit Order, the world's first and largest e-fulfillment company. In other words, he knows a thing or two about starting and building successful businesses.
He also loves sharing his experiences with others. While that would lead some professionals down the book-writing trail, Rich thinks big. Like really big. Like co-founding and co-funding the Center for Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University in 2001 big (which quickly earned a tier one ranking from Entrepreneur Magazine, thank you very much). But why stop there? After co-founding and co-funding an entire discipline at one of the nation's largest universities, Rich also helped to develop the entrepreneurship and commercialization curriculum that he taught in undergraduate, MBA and Executive MBA courses.
In his spare time, Rich likes to play basketball, go mountain biking, save stranded kittens from tree tops and plot to take over the world.
- Five Questions with Rich
- favorite quote: The secret to happiness is low expectations. (Rich Langdale)
- best advice ever received: Look at what you did to cause a problem and work on fixing that as opposed to looking for blame elsewhere.
- hidden talent: I have none. I am mediocre at everything, but I do it all anyway.
- favorite vacation spot: Wherever my family is!
- dog or cat?: I prefer buffalos.
David Hunegnaw
founder/strategic advisor
Dave is our resident maverick, challenging conventional notions and always pushing the envelope...especially when it comes to improving our clients' online experience. In other words, his favorite phrase is, "Are you really happy with that?" Which means he really isn't... Now, as annoying as that may seem at first, it keeps us all reaching for more and delivering a much better product for our customers. We hate it when he's right.
Dave's belief in the power of technology to improve the way people do, well, everything, has been the driving force behind his recent ventures. As the Managing Partner at Fresh, a Columbus-OH based web development and technology incubator, he drove the design and development of such projects as Glance.TV, PodDater, EasyTXTR and 30DayTags -- all start-ups. As if that hasn't kept him busy enough, he has also managed the evolution of GrooveJob, the online job-board he created to serve the previously ignored part-time, hourly and seasonal employment market for high-school and college students. Current GrooveJob clients include leading fast food outlets, major retailers and this little-known organization called the US Army.
When he's not sketching out his next paradigm-shifting idea on the back of a napkin, you'll find Dave zipping around the Short North on his super-cool, eco-friendly scooter.
- Five Questions with Dave
- favorite quote: Why join the navy when you can be a pirate? (Steve Jobs)
- best advice ever received: The secret to happiness is low expectations
- hidden talent: : If I tell you, it won't be hidden any more...
- favorite vacation spot: Beach and beer (is that a spot?)
- dog or cat?: Dogs and Cats
Jeff R. Lamb
president
What do you call someone with crazy-sharp IT skills who is equally comfortable talking P&Ls, strategic plans and marketing objectives? Around DOmedia, we call him "President," although he really prefers we just call him Jeff.
As you look through Jeff's background, one thing jumps out at you. . . he has honestly done a little bit of everything. We're talking real estate mogul, restaurant owner, consulting services entrepreneur, U.S. Air Force Captain, chief technology officer, and - no joke - spy satellite engineer (he could tell you all about this one, but then he'd have to kill you). Chronologically speaking, after graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering, Jeff spent four years active duty as an officer in the Air Force working at the National Air Intelligence Agency. Upon return to civilian life, he founded Computer Wizards Consulting, a virtualized computer consulting firm focused on database-intensive web applications. When Leader Technologies purchased Consulting Wizards, Jeff stayed on as Chief Technology Officer and led the development of 60+ patentable technologies. After five years with Leader, Jeff decided to give the IT-thing a rest and (successfully) explored the worlds of real estate, restaurant and bar ownership (nice perks), and helped start a web-based telephone conferencing company.
Having enjoyed a semi-retired state, Jeff decided to return to the real world, accepting a Chief Technology Officer role with Interactive Ink, an interactive marketing company. As he helped to successfully launch a number of websites for a wide range of clients, he also helped prepare the company for its eventual sale to Northlich, a Cincinnati-based advertising agency. Following the acquisition, Jeff remained with Northlich as their Chief Technology Officer until fate brought him to the DOmedia door.
In his off hours, Jeff likes to use his unfair height advantage to squash opposing sand volleyball players. Squash 'em, like a bug. . . really small bugs with short legs. . . and no wings.
- Five Questions with Jeff
- favorite quote: So you're saying there's a chance . . .
- best advice ever received: Don't be stoopid.
- hidden talent: You wouldn't think it to look at me, but I can run really fast.
- favorite vacation spot: Rocky Point, Mexico
- dog or cat?: Neither. I travel too much; often without a lot of pre-planning. It wouldn't be fair to keep a cat or dog with my schedule.
Bill Frank
technology & development
Bill is our "bits-and-bytes" guy. If it involves database schema, coding, search functionality, Java programming or getting the one do-hickey to talk to the other do-hickey, Bill is our man. Consistent with other DO team members, Bill is a serial entrepreneur (you know, when you say "serial entrepreneur" it sounds like something people should be put away for...just saying).
After completing his active duty assignments with the US Army, Bill channeled his discipline and drive to build success in the private sector. While growing his day-job resume with The Limited, he spent his evenings and any spare time fostering the growth of Impact Consulting Inc., and subsequently, The Prometheus Group. Leaving the corporate world to focus on his own ventures, Bill pushed the envelope even further, co-founding MuniNET., a company that enabled utility companies to deliver data services to their customers. In 1999, Bill joined forces with DLSI and became a key driver behind the success of Submit Order. As co-founder of that business, Bill was responsible for the technology build-out and ongoing development that allowed the company to grow with the industry at a dizzying rate.
If you stop by the office someday, chances are good you'll find Bill pacing and gesturing wildly while talking on his futuristic, cyborg-looking Bluetooth earpiece. We're sure it's about something really, really important...it's just too technical for us to understand.
- Five Questions with Bill
- favorite quote: If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it again? (John Wooden)
- best advice ever received: Pull that cord at 3500 feet.
- hidden talent: Humility
- favorite vacation spot: Anyplace where my kids are having fun
- dog or cat?: Dog
Kimberly Ramser
business development & industry relations
Kim is our in-house out-of-home media guru, keeping us up to speed with the latest industry news, research and trends. Having spent more than 15 years in the outdoor advertising biz, she knows the ins, outs, who's, where's and why's....making her the perfect person to lead our business development efforts and foster meaningful relationships with other industry organizations.
Kim's illustrious career began with Leverock's Seafood House in St. Petersburg, FL as a media planner and buyer. From there, she entered the outdoor world in 1994, first with Patrick Media Group and later with Clear Channel Outdoor as a regional marketing manager. In 2003, she put her years of corporate experience to work for the entire industry, joining the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) as their marketing director. In this role, she championed the growing media channel as both an informational resource and liaison with other advertising trade associations
Drawing on her years of experience, Kim launched Out of Home Connect in 2006, a resource network and searchable database for alternative media (sound familiar?). With a common mission and vision, Out of Home Connect and DOmedia merged in 2008 and Kim joined the DO team, where she continues to advance the industry and help participants learn, grow and connect. If you like, she'll even come right to your office for a little OOH101. Yup, she's just that good.

Laura Brooks
marketing & pr
Laura is the combination social chair/wordsmith of the group. She gives our brand its voice, contributes to our "brilliant" blogs, shamelessly promotes our work, and collaborates with our PR team to spread the DO news.
Before joining the glamorous world of Internet start-ups, Laura was a Marketing Manager with Scotts LawnService, a subsidiary of the Scotts/Miracle-Gro Company. In that role she was responsible for developing sales support materials, managing the brand look and feel, and drove the execution and media plan for the company's largest TV effort in its 10-year history (whew!). Prior to selling fertilizer, she was focused on cleaning carpets, as the Marketing Communications Manager for Stanley Steemer International. In this role, Laura became the voice of the nation's leading carpet cleaning brand... managing its advertising development, PR efforts and internal communication programs. Before each of those roles, Laura honed her branding skills in one of the best retail proving grounds...The Limited. As a copywriter for Express, she navigated the company's words, tone and voice through two rebranding efforts, putting pen to paper for everything from in-store materials to cross-promotions with Glamour and Next Model Management.
Laura graduated with a BS in Marketing (or is that a Marketing BS? hmmm...) from THE Ohio State University in 1993 and has been putting her BS to use ever since. Well, that and her trusty thesaurus.
- Five Questions with Laura
- favorite quote: If you obey all of the rules all of the time, you miss all of the fun (Katherine Hepburn)
- best advice ever received: Challenge authority. But make sure you have your facts straight before you open your mouth.
- hidden talent: I was a competitive figure skater for about 6 years and a coach for 8.
- favorite vacation spot: Anyplace warm with a beach and a spa.
- dog or cat?: Both
Clint Lucas
business development
Clint joined DOmedia after many years on the agency side of the business really wishing there was one, easy-to-use, online tool to help him find alternative media opportunities for his clients. Then, as destiny or a Disney® movie would have it, a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend introduced Clint to Dave and Dave to Clint, and the rest is history.
Clint manages our "buy-side" business development efforts, commiserating with his agency and brand marketing brethren and showing them the light of DOmedia. His strong agency background gives him a deep understanding of the challenges (er, opportunities) faced by those charged with delivering inspired concepts and positive returns in compressed timeframes.
Before he wished upon a star and landed at DOmedia, Clint worked in several leading Cincinnati-area agencies, moving up the ladder from Account Executive to Senior Account Executive to Account Director. During his time at the bottom of the state, his clients included Kroger, Anthem, LaRosa's (mmmm, pizza) and a small local company called Procter & Gamble....Clint swears they'll be huge someday!
- Five Questions with Clint
- favorite quote: "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" (Walt Disney)
- best advice ever received: It's better to be proactive than reactive.
- hidden talent: Part-time Super Hero! Oh yeah, secret powers...the whole bit!
- favorite vacation spot: VEGAS -- Umm, if you get bored there, you have no pulse.
- dog or cat?: Liger -- It's pretty much my favorite animal.
Nick Braun
finance
No organization can exist without some sort of infrastructure and order. Fortunately, we have Nick managing those details for us. As our "Nick-of-all-trades," he oversees everything from P&L management to documenting processes and procedures...you know, the really FUN stuff (that's what we keep telling him anyway). Just in case that's not enough to keep him out of trouble, he also lends a helping hand to everyone else, rolling up his sleeves and diving in to any project that needs a little assistance.
Nick brings a strong corporate and academic background to the DOmedia team, having begun his career as a financial analyst in Huntington Bancshares' Commercial and Corporate banking division. While his financial services experience was just as exciting as it sounds, Nick really wanted a more dynamic, fast-paced work environment. In other words, he was more entrepreneur than corporate. As often happens, one thing led to another and Nick joined NCT Ventures in 2006, developing the infrastructure and internal processes to support their formal investment fund. Shortly after that, he completed his MBA at The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business (showoff!).
Who would have guessed that a man of so few years would have so many accomplishments? Just don't call him a kid...or ask him if he's old enough to drink that beer. He really hates that.
- Five Questions with Nick
- favorite quote: Are you serious, Clark? (Christmas Vacation)
- best advice ever received: The only way you're ever really going to learn is to make mistakes. (my dear old Dad)
- hidden talent: Played wide receiver for Miami University (the one in Ohio, not Florida)
- favorite vacation spot: Bahamas
- dog or cat?: Goldfish
Richard Martin
north american sales
Behind every great company is a great sales organization. For us, Richard is that critical component. He can talk to anyone (and we do mean anyone) and communicate the essence of DOmedia like no one else. What can we say? He's one of a kind! Richard is also our chief customer advocate, acting as liaison between all facets of the organization to ensure our customers' needs are being met.
A native of Ohio, Richard had the chance to see the world, courtesy of the US Army. After completing his military service, he channeled his work ethic and discipline into his New Business Development role with another underground organization, Coca-Cola Enterprises. Having experienced life in the highly competitive beverage world, Richard made the career leap into the competitive world of new biz start-ups, including his own LA-based Notorious Warhol and Dave's own Groovejob.com.
When's he's not on the phone heralding the many benefits of DOmedia, you can find Rich talking to pretty much anyone. He's a talker, that one. Thanks to years of "networking," Rich knows pretty much everyone in the greater Columbus area and beyond. No matter what you need, chances are good Rich "has a guy for that." Don't believe us? Just ask.
- Five Questions with Richard
- favorite quote: What matters most is how well you walk through the fire. (Charles Bukowski)
- best advice ever received: Say transition rather than relinquish.
- hidden talent: I play drums and guitar
- favorite vacation spot: NYC, LA, New Orleans
